Cookie Policy

What cookies we use, why, and how to manage your preferences.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored by your browser when you visit a website. They may be session cookies (deleted when the browser is closed) or persistent cookies (remaining on your device for a set period). Cookies may be issued by the visited site (first-party) or by third parties (e.g. analytics or advertising services).
Cookies we use
We group cookies into 4 categories. Strictly necessary cookies are always active; for the others you have control via the consent banner.
Strictly necessary
Essential for the website to function. Cannot be disabled.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|---|
next-auth.session-token | Clinica DBG | Authentication and maintenance of the logged-in user session | 30 days | HttpOnly, Secure, first-party |
NEXT_LOCALE | Clinica DBG | Storing language preference (RO / EN) | 1 year | First-party, persistent |
dbg_consent_v1 | Clinica DBG | Storing cookie consent preferences (accepted categories) | 12 months | localStorage, first-party |
visitor_session_id | Clinica DBG | Links requests from the same visit for the internal usage report (see the next section) | 30 minutes of inactivity | HttpOnly, first-party |
Functional
Remember your preferences (e.g. language, interface settings) for an improved experience.
We currently use no third-party functional cookies. This category will be updated if we introduce new features.
Analytics
Help us understand how the website is used without identifying you personally.
We use Plausible Analytics (self-hosted). Plausible is privacy-friendly by design: it uses no cookies and collects no personal data. No consent is required under GDPR.
Marketing
Used for personalised advertising and measuring campaign effectiveness.
We currently use no marketing or retargeting cookies. This category will be updated if we launch online advertising campaigns.
Embedded services and internal tracking (no consent required)
The following two processing activities are NOT controlled by the consent banner: they start when the page loads, on the basis of legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We describe them separately so you know exactly what happens even if you reject every optional category.
Embedded Google map
Above the footer and on the Contact page we load a Google Maps map directly on first render. On load, Google receives your IP address, user agent and usage data, and may set its own cookies inside the iframe context. Provider: Google Ireland Ltd.; transfers outside the EU rely on the Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses. We store none of this data ourselves. If you do not want this processing, the only option is not to visit the pages containing the map.
Internal usage report for the demo site
This is a demonstration site. When the feature is enabled, we record a visitor session in order to measure how the demo is used: IP address, country and city derived from the IP, device type, browser, operating system, language, screen resolution, time zone, referrer, pages visited and actions taken (for example signing in with a demo account or completing a test booking), including which demo account was used. The data stays internal — it is emailed as a report to an administrator address — and is deleted automatically after 30 days. It is not used for advertising and is not shared with third parties for marketing. Resolving IP to country may involve an external geolocation service, over an encrypted connection.
How to change your preferences
You can change your preferences at any time via the 'Cookie settings' button in the consent banner or in the site footer. Changes take effect immediately.
How to delete cookies from your browser
You can delete existing cookies and manage settings in your browser:
- Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions
